The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi was graciously received by the people of Odisha during his recent visit to the state. This heartfelt reception reflected the strong connection between the Prime Minister and the citizens of the Indian eastern state Odisha.
The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 18,600 crores covering critical sectors including drinking water, irrigation, agricultural infrastructure, health infrastructure, rural roads and bridges, sections of national highways, and a new railway line.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Shri Modi remarked that 20 June is a very special day, marking the completion of one year of Odisha’s first BJP government. “This anniversary is not merely that of a government, but of the establishment of good governance devoted to public service and public trust”, the Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister added, “Odisha is not merely a state, but a shining star of India’s rich heritage”, highlighting that for centuries, Odisha has enriched Indian civilization and culture.
The event was attended by several notable dignitaries including The Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Minister Shri Jual Oram, Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, along with the other government officials.
