The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Omar Abdullah delivered a special address at the North Zone Regional Conference on “Reaffirming the Constitutional Vision of Justice for Defence Personnel and Tribals: Bridging the Gaps” organised by National Legal Services Authority, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and J&K Legal Services Authority, held at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister emphasised the collective responsibility to ensure justice and legal aid for defence personnel and tribal communities. He underscored the need for empathetic and accessible legal systems through legal aid clinics, mobile platforms, and community-trained para-legal volunteers.

The event was attended by several notable dignitaries including, the Union Minister of Law and Justice of India Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Shri Justice Arun Palli, Executive Chairman National Legal Services Authority Shri Justice Surya Kant, Executive Chairman of J&K Legal Services Authority Shri Sanjeev Kumar, along with the other officials.
