Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi took part in the official family photograph with fellow Heads of State, BRICS partners, and outreach invitees on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In a moment that reflects the strength of India's leadership on the global stage, Prime Minister Modi is seen prominently positioned in the front row, standing beside His Excellency Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil and host of this year’s Summit. The image symbolises the spirit of cooperation, solidarity, and shared vision among the BRICS nations; Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, as well as key partner and outreach countries.

Brics was founded as Bric by Brazil, Russia, India and China in 2009 and South Africa joined the following year. The bloc has since admitted Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Indonesia, and the UAE as full members and invited Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan as “partner countries”.
