Leh, 25 August 2025: The Agriculture Department organised a one-day training camp for farmers in Shara village, under the aegis of the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), today. The program, aimed at equipping local farmers with modern agricultural techniques and knowledge, was attended by 30 participants.

The training camp was headed by Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Leh, Mohd Ramzan. Key resource persons for the event included Agriculture Extension Officer, Kharu, Ms. Kunzang Dolma; Agriculture Extension Officer, Leh, Ms. Tsering Dolkar; and Jr. Agriculture Extension Officer, Leh, Ms. Stanzin Idong.

Farmers received training on a wide range of topics crucial for improving agricultural productivity and sustainability in the region. The sessions covered practical skills and knowledge on:
 * Package of practices for Ladakh Green House
 * Preparation of vermicompost
 * Integrated pest management
 * Seed production
 * Mushroom production
 * Millets production
 * Natural farming

In addition to the technical training, farmers were also briefed on various departmental schemes available to them, with the goal of encouraging them to leverage government support for their agricultural ventures.
